Cookie Note for Visitors
Cookie notices tend to be long because the sites behind them use a lot of cookies. This one stays brief because there is so little to say. Wacfest Weekends uses no tracking cookies, no advertising cookies and no analytics of any kind.
Last updated: October 2026.
What cookies are
A cookie is a tiny file that a website asks your browser to hold on to. Some are needed to make a site work, such as keeping you logged in. Others follow you around the web to measure visits or show you adverts. Local storage is a similar browser feature that lets a page keep a small note on your device.
What this site stores
Exactly one thing. When you answer the cookie card that appears on your first visit, your browser saves that answer in local storage. That way the card does not pop up again on every page you open. The entry:
- holds only your choice, nothing else;
- stays on your device and is never sent to us;
- contains no identifier that could recognise you;
- remains until you clear it.
It does not matter which button you choose: the guide works the same way either way, because there is nothing to switch on or off behind it.
Left out on purpose
| Type | Used here? |
|---|---|
| Analytics or visitor statistics | No |
| Advertising or retargeting | No |
| Social media buttons that load third-party code | No |
| Cookies for sign-ins or member areas | No, the guide has no sign-ins |
| Local storage for your cookie choice | Yes |
The share links at the bottom of some pages are plain links. Nothing is loaded from those services unless you click one.
Clearing your choice
To reset your answer, clear the site data for this website in your browser settings. Most browsers list this under privacy or site settings. The next time you visit, the cookie card will ask again.
Other websites
Several of our articles send you on to outside websites. Those sites may use their own cookies, and their own policies apply once you visit them.
